Announcing the upgraded "Send As A Gift" button

The launch of this improvement to iziGift will make it easier for your customers to send gift cards to their loved ones

Today is an exciting day. We get to announce a product feature that we have been working on for a while now.

Moving the Send to Recipient button from the checkout page to the product page.

This feature is something we always had a plan to add to iziGift but the process of thinking through how we wanted to do it took time. The key was making this first step a sturdy one so that iziGift can continue to build on this foundation.

In the coming months you will see many additions to this feature but for the time being, the important thing to understand is that you can now allow your customers to enter their recipient information before they checkout on your store. This was a highly requested featured because often when the send to recipient button is not on the product page, customers don't know that they can send the gift card to someone. This is not good because this is a BIG reason that many of our customer choose to use iziGIft. Well now that problem is gone.

In order to enable this feature you need to: 

  • Log in to iziGift.
  • At the top of the home page you will see one of the two announcements below:
This means we don't have access from Shopify to the read_themes scope. This lets our app know if you have the "Send as Gift" button turned on or not.
If you give us access to the read_themes scope or we already have access to that, you will see the screen above. If you see this screen just click the "HERE" button. That will take you to the settings page.
  • Once on the settings page click the "Save" button,
  • Enjoy. The "Send As A Gift" button will now be enabled on any iziGift created gift card.
